Brighton Bike Sheds

Founded in 2013, Brighton Bike Sheds was set up to solve the ultimate question all cyclists have – where do I keep it?

Brighton Bikes Sheds was set up by Aaron Priestman after 15 years of experience as a landscaper with a particular interest in carpentry and environmental architecture. In 2005 Aaron started Energy Space Ltd. This was a landscape contracting company designing and building gardens and garden offices in London and Sussex. The first bike shed he built was in the small front garden of a terraced house in London.

On moving to Brighton, he began building more and more bike sheds. Often incorporating them into landscape projects. In 2013 Aaron set up Brighton Bike Sheds, constructing and installing bike storage for cyclists in Brighton and London. In 2014 the company moved to a larger workshop in Ringmer where all the bike sheds are constructed.

Design and Style

The designs available from Brighton Bike Sheds have been mostly clad in Scottish larch. However, since conception, demand has increased for a range of styles and cladding and so more options have become available.

In order to make the purchase open to everyone, they have created 3 distinct pricing bands. All the options can be found on their website, where you will find that it will depend on things such as additional painting or more expensive marterials like imported cedar wood rather than Scottish Larch.

The original Brighton Bike Sheds look is epitomised by the Scottish larch cladding. This is organic, ecological with a touch of rustic chic. Larch is a highly durable timber and is often specified by architects in its untreated state.
